Woolwich Central, London

Woolwich Central is the biggest Tesco development ever built. The £250m scheme features an 84,000 sq ft Tesco store, Europe’s largest, with a 259 one-to three-bedroom apartments over the retail area.

 

The 17 storey building covering a site 85m X 180m was mainly post tensioned concrete design with 180 tonnes of primary steelwork supplied by TSI for the support of the main shop front, structural steels for the support of external façades and plant room enclosures.

 

The project was selected by Graitec to be the cover art for Advance Steel 2014 worldwide release, the project also made it to the finals of the Construction Computing Awards 2014 (the Hammers) in the category of best use of IT in a Construction Project.
